Dr. Megha Tulsiyan is the founder of IReflect, a counselling and psychotherapy center based in Mumbai, India. She has over 13 years of experience in the field of psychology. Her areas of expertise include individual counselling for varied emotional and behavioural concerns, marriage counselling, parenting, child counselling, family therapy, counselling for infertility and maternal mental health, and online counselling.

Experience
Megha was a consultant counsellor and psychotherapist at Inner Space counselling Centre from 2013 to 2018. She held her private practice as a counselling psychologist from 2010 to 2018, before she founded IReflect in 2018. She has experience in working through varied mental health issues such as anxiety, social anxiety, depression, mood disorders, post partum issues, trauma, abuse, work stress, shame, guilt, low self worth, anger, infertility, relationship issues, and parenting.
She has designed, developed and conducted talks and workshops for several organizations such as the Rotary Club, Medwiz Healthcare Communications, Intas Pharma, and Best Western group. She was also invited by Radio one (94.3) for talks on parenting, and by Radio Mirchi (98.3) for inputs on family therapy. She is a guest lecturer and dissertation examiner at SNDT University, Mumbai.
Earlier, she has worked with Late Dr Mandakini Parihar (Mandakini IVF centre, Chembur) as a counsellor for couples undergoing treatment for infertility. She was also a counsellor in the IVF department of L.H.Hiranandani hospital, Powai as part of her PhD research work.
She also worked with Drishti as a psychologist, where she was engaged in psycho-educational assessments and child counselling. She has conducted behavioural and soft skills training workshops and group sessions with students, teachers, and corporate organization while working with Confluence Integrated Services Private Limited, Delhi. She was a trainee trauma counsellor with Swanchetan (NGO) in Delhi, and also worked as a trainee school counsellor, at Amity International School, Delhi.
Education
Megha holds a PhD in Psychology from Mumbai University, in the subject of ‘Emotional needs of couples undergoing treatment for infertility’. She is a qualifier of the UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test) examination, and has been awarded the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship by University Grants Commission.
She completed her Masters in Applied Psychology (M.A.) with a specialization in counselling and social psychology from South Campus, Delhi University in 2007. She graduated with a B.A. Hons. in Psychology from Lady Sri Ram College for Women (L.S.R.), Delhi University. The Human Mind has always been an intriguing area of study for her, and she had decided to explore the field of psychology while she was still in her 9th grade. She feels as if her work has always been her ‘calling’, and is incredibly passionate about her field of work.
Training
Besides her formal education in psychology, she has also attended various training programs and workshops on counselling and psychotherapy.
- She has an international certificate in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (RE-CBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, and has undergone extensive training in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy.
- She is trained in Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) by Dr. Raja Selvam. This training has helped her significantly improve and deepen therapy outcomes, since it involves integrating the body, energy, and consciousness into the psychological process in therapy.
Along with these, she has a strong bent towards humanistic and existential schools of psychotherapy. Megha also keeps engaging in various study groups, peer counselling, case discussions, and therapy for herself, for continuous learning on her path of self awareness, such that she can be an effective resource in helping her clients in their journey as well.
Interests
Apart from being a psychologist, she is also a mother to a 3 year old. She likes to learn about alternative ways of healing, and practices yoga and meditation. Reading a good book can keep her occupied for hours, and there are times when she loves to write poetry and blogs. Going to places where she can be close to nature, be it sitting by the beach, driving up the mountains, or simply walking in a beautiful garden gives her a lot of peace.
